The main aim of this expedition is to get the highest possible amount of bird kinds in spring plumage with observance of nature-conservative rules and respect to the secured species. The main hunting objects are ruffs, the breeding plumage of each of them is unique, and loons
The hunting are is Taimyr peninsula, the most northern extremity of Eurasia surrounded by the Arctic Ocean from the north and by Yenisei, one of the largest Siberian rivers, from the west.
We chose this peninsula as one of the area of collectors' hunts because it is a natural habitat of birds both from Europe and Asia. Besides you won't find such a combination of many biotopes – from forests in the South, through forest-tundra to tundra with mountainous areas and large river system of Yenisei and its tributaries.
We suggest the following variant of hunt organization: after arrival at Norilsk airport hunters transfer to Dudinka (port town on Yenisei bank) where they hunt for two days in the adjacent tundras. Then the group goes on ship board, goes up-stream and hunts in forest areas. Then the ship goes down-stream, to the delta. The hunt is conducted in islands and on river banks on foot, from motor boats at tributaries and lakes.
The Taimyr climate is rather changeable at the end of May – at the beginning of June. Sunny and warm (up to 20 C) days can change to windy and cold (to 0C) days with thick mists. 7 hunting days. The increase of the number hunting days is possible on the prior request and consent of all group members. Tour itinerary
1st day flight from Moscow to Norilsk (about 23 hours);
2nd day arrival to Norilsk at 7 a.m., custom formalities, transfer to Dudinka, accommodation in hotel, rest, transfer to the hunt;
3rd day hunt in Dudinka area;
4th day transfer by motor boat to the South along Yenisei, hunt;
5th day hunt
6th day transfer to the North, hunt
7th day hunt
8th day hunt
9th day return to Dudinka, night at hotel
10th day transfer to Dudinka and flight to Moscow at 9 a.m. Arrival at the same time. Necessary equipment: high waders, warm and waterproof blazer, strong trousers, gloves, sun glasses and cream, sleeping bag, thermos, a small rucksack and everything else you'll need for a hunt taking into consideration that luggage franchise makes up 30 kg. Formalities: your passport should be valid for minimum 6 months from the date of your return from Russia. The visa is obligatory. Taimyr is a border region for which you'll need a special entrance permit. The period of its receipt – up to three months. You should take it into consideration while planning your trip.
