Expedition for collectors to the lake Issyk Kul

Kirgizia pheasant
The hunting area are situated near the lake Issyk Kul in the eastern part of Kirghizstan and in Tien Shan mountains. The aim of this expedition is to get the possibility to hunt for the largest possible amount of bird kinds inhabiting various biotopes. Thousands of geese, ducks and limicoles gather there in spring before the migration to the Northern and North-Eastern part of Russia. This is a unique place due to a dense concentration of various biotopes (salt lakes, rivers, swamps, and agriculture) on a relatively small territory.
Organization. Arrival in Bishkek, then 4-hr transfer to Karakol by minibus. The hunt is conducted in accordance with the local authorities permit round the lake (small rivers, fields, swamps and at the lake shore). Palaearctic ducks, Red-breasted geese, Common goldeneye, Bean geese, Greylag geese, Greater white-fronted geese, Caspian plovers, Godwits, Gadwalls, Garganeys and Common teals, Pintail, Northern shovelers, Eurasian wigeons, Red-breasted pochards, Common pochards, Tufted ducks, Ruddy shelduck, Ferruginous pochards, numerous lemicoles and Snipes and lots of other birds ... represent an essential part of bird kinds. The hunt is held on base 2 hunters x 1 experienced guide. Methods of hunt: short range shots or ground shooting stand as you wish, from boat or shore as you wish.
The hunt for partridge is held at the foot of the mountain in days after the arrival to this area. In order to avoid any disputes concerning the name "Keklik", we would rather use its Latin name "Alectoris Kakelik". It’s an Asian partridge, a kin to our Red partridge. This specie is numerous in Kirghizstan.
The hunting area is covered with forested hills. First of all this kind of hunt is intended for purists who would like to know more about other places, who are tired of the monotonous life in some countries of Western Europe. There are several methods of partridge hunting: close passing shots, hunting with a dog (for those who want to take their dog with them), driving. An experienced hunter can take up to 25 partridges per day. There are a lot of birds there but the hunt is very difficult due to the characteristics of the area and vitality of birds.
We also organize hunt for snipes in forests and mountainous areas. March is a spring month is Kirghizstan. The weather is pleasant and sunny. But the temperature doesn’t exceed 20 C at daytime and it may be rather cold at night. That’s why hunters should have warm and waterproof clothes.
All the transfers during the hunt are made by 4WD. Comfortable camps with obliging personnel will be present for you in all our hunting areas. The picturesque view and mountains will make an impression on you. You’ll have a chance to estimate traditional Kirghizian hospitality and national cuisine of this country.
